Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 large apples, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji
- ¼ cup almond butter, or peanut butter
- ¼ cup granola
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons dried cranberries
- 1 tablespoon pepitas
Sauce
- ½ cup vanilla yogurt, regular or Greek
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- ⅙ teaspoon apple pie spice, or pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Prepare the Apples: Slice the apples into ¼-inch thick pieces. If not using immediately, place the slices in a bowl of cool water and cover to prevent browning. Drain well before assembling.
- Assemble the Apple Nachos: Arrange the apple slices slightly overlapping in a circle on a serving platter. Drizzle the almond butter evenly over the apples. Sprinkle granola, chopped pecans, dried cranberries, and pepitas on top.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the vanilla yogurt, maple syrup, and apple pie spice until well combined. Serve this sauce alongside the apple nachos for dipping.
Notes
- To keep apples from browning, immediately submerge slices in cool water and cover before use.
- For longer apple freshness, consider lemon juice or other apple browning prevention techniques.
- Apple slices can be stored up to 3 days, but the nachos are best enjoyed the same day for optimal taste and texture.
