Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 1 (13-ounce) package golden Oreos (about 36 Oreos)
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
- ½ teaspoon red food coloring (plus additional drops for deeper color)
Coating & Decoration
- 3 cups light green candy melts
- Large red heart sprinkles for decorating
Instructions
- Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Add the golden Oreos to a large food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
- Mix Cream Cheese and Color: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a bowl, add the cream cheese, and mix until fully combined. Stir in about ½ teaspoon of red food coloring, adding a few extra drops to reach a rich red shade.
- Form Balls: Use a medium cookie scoop to portion out 1 ½-inch amounts and roll them into balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Melt Candy Coating: Place the light green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second increments at 50% power, stirring well after each, until smooth.
- Dip and Decorate: Use a fork to dip each chilled ball into the melted candy melts, tapping off any excess. Lay the coated balls onto a clean parchment-lined baking sheet and top each with a large red heart sprinkle while the coating is still wet.
- Set and Chill: Refrigerate the dipped balls for at least 1 hour until the coating is firm. Serve chilled.
Notes
- Use full-fat cream cheese for the best flavor and texture.
- If you don’t have a food processor, crush the Oreos in a sealed plastic bag with a rolling pin.
- Adjust the amount of red food coloring for the desired intensity of color inside the cookie mixture.
- Store the finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Light green candy melts can be substituted with white chocolate dyed with green food coloring if preferred.
