Description

Christmas Crunch is a festive and colorful treat combining buttery white chocolate marshmallow coating, popcorn, pretzels, and holiday-themed Mini M&M’s and sprinkles. It’s an easy-to-make, no-bake snack perfect for holiday gatherings and parties.

Ingredients

Scale

Popcorn Mixture

  • 2 bags microwave popcorn (about 10 cups popped)
  • 1 cup pretzels, broken in half
  • Mini M&M’s Candy Red & Green, as needed for topping
  • Peanut M&M’s Candy Red & Green, as needed for topping
  • Sprinkles Red & Green, as needed for topping

Butter and Marshmallow Mixture

  • ¾ cup white chocolate candy melts
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line an 11 x 17 inch baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Pop Popcorn: Pop the microwave popcorn according to package directions to yield about 10 cups. Spread popcorn evenly over the parchment-lined baking sheet and set aside.
  3. Melt Mixture: In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the mini marshmallows and white chocolate candy melts to the melted butter and stir continuously until everything is melted and smooth with no lumps. Remove from heat once fully combined.
  4. Coat Popcorn: Pour about three-quarters of the melted butter-marshmallow mixture over the popcorn on the baking sheet. Toss gently to coat the popcorn evenly.
  5. Add Toppings: Pour the remaining butter mixture evenly over the coated popcorn. Sprinkle Mini M&M’s, Peanut M&M’s, red and green sprinkles, and broken pretzels evenly over the top.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the Christmas Crunch to cool completely on the baking sheet until the coating sets and the snack is crisp. Once cooled, break apart and serve.

Notes

  • To store: Let the Christmas Crunch cool completely to avoid moisture buildup that can cause sogginess.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat, to keep it fresh and crunchy for up to one week.
  • Avoid moisture and humidity to preserve the crunchiness of the treat.
  • Alternative mixing option: Toss the popped popcorn in a large bowl with three-quarters of the melted mixture using a silicone spoon, sprinkle toppings (saving some for later), then lay it on the baking sheet, drizzle with the remaining mixture, and sprinkle the remaining toppings on top.
